Lovisa Loretta lives and works in Orvieto, Umbria, Italy. She has always been interested in manual and creative activities, as well as in new techniques. Loretta begun as a self-taught person to create several works.
In 1999, after receiving an official certificate by the Province of Terni, she opens a school-laboratory. The reasons why she did this, is to reassess, recover and maintain the Orvieto lace tradition alive.
One of the main goals is to educate people – especially young people – to this art, an important field that could build stable job opportunities.
For this reason, Loretta started her courses. Knowing that the Orvieto lace represents a cultural patrimony, she also started promoting it, together with her hometown Orvieto and its traditional productions. Since 1999, Loretta attended several international exhibitions, shows, meetings, conferences, competitions.
